Since our launch one month ago, the WIN Foundation has grown to a viewership of over 4,200 people (unique viewers). This includes people from 38 states, with the top ten states being OH, FL, MI, IL, VA, NY, IN, PA, TX, and MD.
WIN's readership has viewed over 27,000 pages of WIN Foundation content in our first month, and we have raised over $11,000 from memberships. Alumni memberships are $100, and fees are waived for student members. Funding from memberships, donations, and grants are used to pay for programs that we develop for Wittenberg. Programs are proposed by WIN members and are incrementally funded as performance milestones are met. Program budgets vary project by project, but funding is used to pay student internships, acquire supplies and equipment for student organizations, or support instructional costs. With that said, the real value of WIN's involvement goes far beyond the monetary budget; we believe that WIN makes its biggest impact through bringing the expertise and passion of our members to the intellectual effort of solving problems, working with faculty & administration, and mentoring students.
The WIN Foundation has accomplished this outcome through the generous donation of time by our member volunteers. These viewership metrics do not capture the many hours of planning, research, meetings, and phone calls that are essential to reach out to alumni, faculty, administration, students, Board members, and outside partners. This outreach and communication is essential to target research and development efforts that are aimed at increasing enrollment and creating distinctive programs and experiences for Wittenberg's students.
The work of the foundation (described in a recent blog post (https://www.wittinnovationnetwork.org/post/so-what-is-win-doing), is focused on both near and longer term projects, and it is informed by both "megatrends" that are affecting higher education as a whole, as well as obstacles and opportunities that are unique to Wittenberg.
